We have seen many users complaining that they are facing a lot of issues after they’ve upgraded to Android lollipop on their S5. Keeping there issues in mind, we come to know that lollipop does not work well with Samsung Galaxy S5 and they should rather restrict their device to Kitkat for Now.

Here are the steps to be followed in order to downgrade Android lollipop to Kitkat on your Samsung Galaxy S5. Now don’t face more issues on your Samsung Galaxy S5 and get back your Android Kitkat version.
Caution: Don’t forget to take the complete backup of your Android phone before applying the below steps in order to be on the safe side.
  • First of all, get your model number; by going to Settings >> About Device and come down to Model Number section and not down that number (It will consist some digits and letters).

  • Now go to this Link and enter your model number and get the firmware for your device; make sure to download the latest firmware for your device.
  • After that, Download the Samsung drivers on your computer, if not installed already.
  • Then you need to download Odin 3.09 on your computer.
  • After that, enable USB debugging by going to Settings >> Developer Options and enable it from there.
  • Now unzip the Firmware file which you have downloaded in above step.
  • Turn off your Galaxy S5 in Download mode by pressing Power, Home, and Volume Down until you see Android Warning message and then immediately press Volume up button to enter the Download mode.
  • After that Lunch Odin 3.09 on your PC.
  • Afterwards, connect your Samsung Galaxy S5 with your PC using USB cable and wait until Odin recognize your device. Ones it is recognized then ID:COM box will turn blue.
  • Now make sure that Auto-Reboot and F.Reset Time are checked and other options are unchecked.
  • Ensure that that Re-Partition option is NOT checked.
  • Afterwards, click on AP Box on Odin and head toward the tar.md5 from the unzipped Firmfare you downloaded and unzipped in above steps.

  • Now click on Start in Odin and it will take some time to get completed until don’t disconnect or turn off your Samsung Galaxy S5.
  • Ones it is done then you will see a Pass message in green color.
  • Now your Samsung Galaxy will be reboot and one it is started again then it will running on Android 4.4 Kitkat.
  • You have successfully Downgraded, Enjoy!
